Impacts of a Young Population

Positive

Negative

Economical:

·

In the future there will be more women to have children, which will

put more pressure on the health service.

·

All of the young people will need to be educated, and providing

schools and teachers is expensive. All of the resources needed for the lessons

are costly to buy.

·

The young children will need vaccinations so that they won’t get

diseases and die. This is expensive for a country to provide.

·

There would be a future aging population.

·

Increased poverty as more people are born into families that are

already poor.

·

More young people with jobs and shorter employment hours.

·

Not enough jobs for all the people in the country so people are

unemployed.

·

Provides a growing market for economic products.

Political:

·

The government will have to decide to either lower pensions or to

have worse education services, due to funds being short.

·

A future aging population.

·

Government focuses on policies that are important to the young.

·

Pensions become less important to the government.

·

The government has to make policies to bring population growth under

control.

·

Provides a large tax base for the country.

·

Large and cheap future workforce.

Social:

·

Healthcare and housing services have a high pressure on them to

supply.

·

The children would have to work to support their large families.

·

People are forced to live in make-shift housing as there isn’t

enough housing for everyone.

·

There could be a famine due to there being not enough workers in the

fields to provide for all the children.

·

Lack of available jobs in future.

·

High infant mortality
