The Mass the same sacrifice as the sacrifice at Calvary; it not only recalls that sacrifice but continues it A mass is a memorial and the perfect prayer. It is an act of supreme worship and is a prayer of thanksgiving (Eucharist means thanksgiving). It is our best means of petitioning the Father.

Chapter 19:

We celebrate the death and Resurrection of the Lord in a sacred banquet. We should approach this celebration with reverence and profound respect.. We express reverence by our attitude and actions: by proper dress, silence, genuflection and by prayerfulness. In the Our Father we pray for our daily bread, expressing our trust in God who provides for all our earthly needs. Our daily bread is also Christ.

Chapter 20:

People did not believe Jesus when he said: He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink indeed. Many turned away from him. He meant it was spiritual food, nourishment for our souls. It is the source of all grace. It can increase the sanctifying grace, which is God's life in our soul. It also pardons our venial sins.
