SENDER: Myself

RECEIVER: customer

MESSAGE: that extra food cost extra money

ENCODE: using the active verb "any added on" lets it be known that it will be costing more

CHANNEL: we as a company have to understand that if we don't tell them before they ask that the customer might get upset. being that said we may ask "would you like to have any added-on queso or guac" using verbal words and tone of voice to get the message across as kind and casual as possible

DECODE: the customer acknowledges this information.

FEEDBACK: if not the receiver will be told that it's going to cost extra just for double understatement and perceives to either decline or claim.

Name one way in which miscommunication can occur between two people. when one or both parties don't take the time to understand that there can be more than one truth and that everyone has a different way of communication.

Describe a situation from your own life when you believe this type of miscommunication happened. my mindset differs from my boyfriend's. being that said there have been times when I realized that I need to have a different approach or even speak in a more literal and straight-to-the-point explanation rather than just saying something once. the last time something happened of such a nature, we were in the car and I had to be at work by 5. early in the morning, all I told him was that I wanted to be back at the house by 4. giving no contact and just setting an expectation without an explanation. we ended up coming home right before 5 due to him telling his friend we would go pick them up and drop them off at where they needed to be. I was unaware of this arrangement. by that time it was already too late to back out. I got upset and told him that I had work at 5 and needed to get him as soon as possible. I somewhat blew up and got upset with him. this lead him to not be in the best mood and me being upset solving absolutely nothing.

How might you have influenced a different outcome? if I had told him ahead of time the plan and what we needed to stick to in a more informative way then we would have been able to say no. another option that would help is simple reminders that I have work.

in the first video"$10 words fail" stuck with me. mainly because, I'm the type of person who loves using vocabulary, and have to understand that when it comes to talking in a more universal language: it's always easier to use smaller more understandable words. epically if you're trying to allow more people to understand your perspective/ mindset. In the ted talk by TamikiaMizadi smith, altho there was much, more to take away, she really focused the idea on "how to engage people with the "why". In order to Communicate the why you have to have an understanding of your audience and an understatement of the universal language. Respect. In order to ask the right questions with the desired outcome, you need to present the information the right way. Understanding that people are most likely to hear information and digest it when treated with empathy and sincerity. In order to be a proper Communicator you have to understand the building blocks of communication. As well as an understanding of how Humans listen and understand information. That was one of my biggest takeaways from this lesson Overall Able to communicate in the most proper So that my future employers, endeavors, and relationship can Prosper.
