netnography: uses 'found data'

A priory: decide what you want before looking at data

Post hoc: look through data to find something pre established

usually inductive ie. everything so far is white so the next one will also be white as opposed to deductive where x=y and y=z and so x=z.

Theory: explanation

Triangulation: Taking data from various sources and collating it to make the full picture.
