Among the activities often identified as characteristic of science are systematic observation and experimentation, inductive and deductive reasoning, and the formation and testing of hypotheses and theories.

Significant figures

Significant figures are important because they tell us how to round. The real point is to make sure that the answer you get isn't more precise than the numbers you started with.

When you get an ugly answer you look at the digits you divided or multiplied them for, you see how many digits there are and thats how many digits you leave while rounding it up.

Use the lower number when rounding up the number.
