ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS

• Communicating online means transferring data from one user to another or many. This is often done through specialist software or websites, including social media. Online communities are a network of friends who involve themselves in virtual worlds. This is an unreal world that is created by the computer and does not exist in the real world. Its is also known as a Network of Friends. Examples of some virtual worlds is XBOX, World of War Craft and Clash of Clans. Online communities make use of contemporary social media.

BLOGS

• These are frequently updated online journals with diary-like entries which allow people to express their thoughts and feelings. An examples of a Blog is Tumblr.

MICROBLOGGING

• These are sites which allows users to create and exchange really short text entries. A popular example of this type of site is Twitter

WIKI

• These are websites that provide information that visitors to the site can extend and edit.The best-known example of a wiki is Wikipedia
• 

CHATROOM

• Some of the large interactive communities where people take part in the same conversation or type of chat at the same time are known as chat rooms.

NETEQUETTE

• Communicating online requires a special behavior or etiquette, known as netiquette.
• Netequette is a set of rules designed to prevent abusive behaviour online. If a user breaks
• netiquette then other users can report them.
