Euthanasia shows christian love, what do you think explain your opinion?

i agree as i think god taught to love your neighbour and allowing euthanasia to take place shows a loving compassionate attitude. Letting someone have the free will of deciding when their quality of life is not good shows love. If life is so sacred then it should be about the quality it's liven in.

explain different views about when life begins (4)

some christians think life begins at conception - the moment where the sperm meets the egg. Others think it begins at three weeks when the heart starts to beat.

explain why some christians disagree with abortion(4)

Some christians disagree with abortions because they think life starts at conception and this means abortion is murder. God taught 'do not murder' this means that having an abortion is killing a baby which is murder. Some disagree with abortion because 'life is sacred'. This means that every life is special and valued because god created it.

Explain why some christians agree with euthanasia(4)

Some christians agree with passive euthanasia because of the quality of life and the right to self determination. Someone may feel they have lived their life to the full and any more would be effecting their quality of life and self dignity. As life is so sacred it should be lived with quality not quantity. Some christians agree with euthanasia because it shows compassion to that dying person. God taught to 'love your neighbour'. Allowing euthanasia shows love and compassion to that person.

Explain why some christians disagree with euthanasia(4)

Some christians disagree with euthanasia as god taught 'do not murder'. Euthanasia helps someone end their life deliberately which goes against this teaching from god. Some christians disagree with euthanasia because 'life is sacred'. This means that every life is precious and valued because the creator is god. You are killing something that has been created and perfected by god.

Explain Christian Attitudes to Non-voluntary euthanasia (4)

Some christians think this is acceptable as you are making the decision out of pure love and compassion. god taught to 'love your neighbour' and this is shown by making the loving decision for someone who can't. that person might be suffering deeply and the best thing to do for them is end their suffering with compassion. Other christians think non-voluntary euthanasia is murder. God taught ' do not murder'. Making the decision to end someones life is killing them intentionally which is murder.

Cassie thinks that human life begins at conception. Explain two other views on when human life begins (4)

Some people think that human life begins at three weeks. This is when the heart of the foetus starts to beat. Others think that human life begins at forty weeks. This is because this is when the baby is born and is outside the mothers womb. The baby is alive without the help of the mother.

Describe the work of hospices (6)

A Hospice is a place someone who is terminally ill goes to so they can die with dignity and be pain free in their last moments. Hospices offer pain relief spiritually and medically. This means they give rain relief to ease the suffering and help with counselling mentally to prepare the person who is ill and their family that their life is ending. A hospice is a place someone can go to die with dignity and a good quality of life. At a hospice you can do activities like gardening, writing and talking. They try to make those coming to the end of their life comfortable and have warm surroundings. They get supported by local churches and have fundraising events and carol concerts.

Explain why some christians agree with pro-choice views on abortion(6)

Some Christians agree with pro-choice views such as - abortion is morally acceptable if the mother is in great danger. The church of England states that they agree with this because in their eyes the mother comes first. If their life is threatened by the embryo then their life comes first over the embryo as their could be a possibility they could reproduce on again. Some christians agree with pro-choice because of the freedom of will. Some christians think that human beings are given free will by god to make their own decisions and taking the moral responsibility. Some christians think that pro-choice views are acceptable because of compassionate killing. God taught compassion. It is more loving to abort severely disable embryos than put them through the pain of being born and the mother through the pain of childbirth.
