The Water Cycle

• -Cycle of water by which water circulates between earth's ocean, atmosphere, and land
• Evaporation- Water changes from liquids to gases
• e.g. Evapo-transpiration ( water passes through the xylem of a plant and exits through the stomata
• e.g. a pool of water on the floor that is exposed to sunlight disappear after
• several days (evaporates)
• 2. Condensation – from gas to liquid phase.
• 3. Sublimation – solid into gas e.g. snow or ice turning into fog
• 4. Precipitation – rain, snow, sleet
• 

The Carbon Cycle

• Carbon moves from living things to the atmosphere.
• Each time you exhale, you are releasing carbon dioxide gas
• (CO2) into the atmosphere
• e.g. Animal Respiration adds Carbon to the atmosphere
• 

Photosynthesis

• WHAT ARE NEEDED FOR
• PHOTOSYNTHESIS (INPUT)
• Increasing CO2, H2O and Sunlight means increasing input to Photosynthesis.
• CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) + H2O (water)

• PRODUCTS (OUTPUT)
• C6H12O6 (Glucose) + O2 (Oxygen)

Cellular Respiration

• is the opposite of Photosynthesis
• process or processes involved in the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between an organism and the environment
• High energy carbon-carbon bonds are broken in glucose when energy change forms and used during the process of cellular respiration.
• Respiration is called AEROBIC when OXYGEN is involved; and
• ANAEROBIC when there is NO OXYGEN.
• Formation of LACTIC ACID occurs when insufficient oxygen is supplied to the muscle. This is called Lactic Acid Fermentation
