- As you go down group 7, the halogens have the following properties:
- They become less reactive
- Higher melting point
- Higher boiling point
- They become less reactive because is is harder for the outer shell electrons to get involved in a reaction by gaining one electron since the outer shell gets further away from the nucleus.
