WHAT IS THE MATTER ?

• The main component of bodies, susceptible of all kinds of forms and changes, which is characterized by a set of physical or chemical properties, perceptible through the senses.
•

• AND CAN BE IN THREE STATES:

What kinds of matter can we find ?

• 1. SUBSTANCE: From the chemical point of view, it is the homogeneous matter of defined chemical composition. It is made up of atoms of equal atomic number and a single class of molecules, which have the same composition and constant specific properties.
• 2. MIX: It is the meeting of two or more substances that do not react chemically, therefore, retain their particular properties and can be easily separated. In a mixture, the components are in any proportion.

• SOLIDS:
• A solid is a substance formed by molecules, which are very united to each other by a force called Cohesion Force. Solids are hard and difficult to compress, because the molecules, which are very close together, leave no space between them.

• A liquid is a substance formed by molecules that are in constant displacement, and that they move on each other. Liquids are fluids because they do not have their own form, but they take the one of the container that contains them.

• A gas is a substance formed by molecules that are separated from each other. The gases do not have their own form, since the molecules that form them move in several directions and at great speed. For this reason, they occupy large spaces.

• In physics and chemistry, plasma is called the fourth state of aggregation of matter, a fluid state similar to the gaseous state but in which a certain proportion of its particles are electrically charged and have no electromagnetic equilibrium, so they are good electrical conductors and their Particles respond strongly to long-range electromagnetic interactions.
