  1. Thoreau built a chimney in his house to prepare for winter.
    1. He used bricks and sand for the chimney and he plasters the walls to keep the wind out.
      1. He gathers nuts and fruits (not to eat, but more for decoration).
      2. Thoreau says that he dreams of having a larger house to invite people to.
        1. But doesn't he believe that people have too much possessions and only need the essentials? (This goes against his beliefs).
          1. In society, people often have big houses to impress guests, but end up staying as far away from them as possible and calling it hospitality.
            1. He would rather be close to his guests and interact with them rather than owning a big house to impress them with.
