In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media?
  1. Our sequence is a thriller. Normal thriller conventions include mysterious shots, which is what we have in our science sequence.
    1. There is a lot of low key lighting used in thrillers to highlight the mysterious nature of the sequence. This is done in our opening in the science sequence. This makes the audience anticipate whats going to happen to the character as its not actually clear at first.
      1. Using a male protagonist adds to the use of thriller conventions. Also, the mysterious nature of the detective adds to the idea mysterious atmosphere in the beginning.
        1. The sounds are loud and weary which also adds to the use of thriller conventions in our sequence. Again the sounds make the audience wait for more and want more information. The voice over also makes it seen mysterious however gives a slight insight into whats happening
          1. In an opening sequence, a setting and character is introduced to the audience. In the opening to a thriller, the setting is normally mysterious and has a hint of danger. this is communicated in the science section as we have and interesting setting and the props used make it look dangerous.
