Proteins fat's and sugars all contain carbon!

Carbon is present in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide!

Plants use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis to produce sugars.The carbon is then transferred to animals along food chains.

Carbon is lost into the atmosphere in respiration and combustion

It can be tied up in long-term carbon stores through fossilisation  Crude oil coal limestone(only 1 not a fossil fuel) natural gas peat
