1Students will succeed in their studies if they put in extra [blank_start]commitment[blank_end]. They need to work [blank_start]smarter[blank_end] not harder.
Resources students can access include: [blank_start]Study[blank_end] [blank_start]Therapist[blank_end], Videos, Peers. These will support you and help you achieve your study goals.
Although working with Elysian is a [blank_start]partnership[blank_end], it is the student who is ultimately [blank_start]responsibility[blank_end] to take control of their study and learning.
Occasionally things happen that we hadn’t planned for, a [blank_start]contingency.[blank_end] So it’s important to recognise when we are stressed.
We need to learn how to recognise stress and how to manage it.
One of the first things to manage the stress of study would be to speak to your Study Therapist. Together you can decide to find a [blank_start]study[blank_end] [blank_start]buddy[blank_end], adjust your study plan or have extra support.
Another way to help with [blank_start]Stress[blank_end] management is to sort out your [blank_start]Time[blank_end] management. By following simple rules you will develop good habits and stay on track with your study. By planning a [blank_start]study[blank_end] calendar, a weekly [blank_start]planner[blank_end] and [blank_start]daily[blank_end] [blank_start]to[blank_end] [blank_start]do[blank_end] [blank_start]list[blank_end] you will be doing everything possible to manage both personal and study priorities.
In order to set [blank_start]priorities[blank_end] in your career, life or study goals you need to follow the same set of rules. They are called the [blank_start]SMARTT[blank_end] rules.
[blank_start]Specific[blank_end] – they deal with one and only one outcome.
[blank_start]Measurable[blank_end] – you can easily tell if you’ve met them or not.
[blank_start]Achievable[blank_end] – they need to be realistic, but lets make them goals that challenge or stretch you. Unachievable goals will demoralise you and you will give up before you have started.
[blank_start]Result[blank_end] [blank_start]Oriented[blank_end] – they focus on an outcome, not an activity that may or may not get you to your desired outcome. This keeps you focused and ready to move on to the next task or goal.
[blank_start]Time[blank_end] [blank_start]Bound[blank_end] – when you set a deadline, you are may be creating some pressure for yourself to achieve your goals. However deadlines motivate you and force you to time manage your work load and plan what’s necessary to reach your [blank_start]goals[blank_end]
