Section A - Devised Piece

Question 1

• Describe what your piece was about and include the following:
• How you contributed to the piece (e.g. actor + [character portrayed])
• The genre of the piece (e.g. Comedy, Tragedy, Mystery, Historical, etc.)
• The style of the piece (naturalistic/abstract [must say how it's abstract])
• The period of the piece (+ year)
• The performance space used (e.g. Drama Studio) and how it was configured (e.g. end-on staging)
• Target Audience (+ why)
• Any technical/ design elements used (lighting, props, etc.)

Tips for Question 1

• Imagine that everything they're asking you to describe in your piece is a checklist - it may help if you tick off each topic as you mention it!
• You will be assessed on your English, so even though the examples in this slide answer the questions, you will need to write your answer professionally.
