  1. 1Lady Macbeth comforting Macbeth (ACT 2 SCENE 2)"consider it not so deeply”, and, “A foolish thought, to say a sorry sight”. As Macbeth panics, Lady Macbeth comforts Macbeth as she thinks it will make him mad if he keeps thinking about it, this is prophetic as Lady Macbeth herself turns mad.
The simplicity of her words contrast greatly with his dramatic and fearful words, “This is a sorry sight”, this is ironic as later she is found sleep walking, imagining that the blood is still on her hands.
  2. 2Lady Macbeth is pragmatic (ACT2 SCENE2)Lady Macbeth is also seen as pragmatic, saying, “What’s done is done”. This is also prophetic as later she is found sleepwalking because of the guilt, proving that things are not done and irrelevant, they will very much haunt them for the rest of their lives.
  3. 3Start of the end... (ACT 2 SCENE 2)Even though Shakespeare presents Lady Macbeth as strong and powerful in the first few scenes of the play, we notice that she starts to deteriorate and becomes weaker as the play progresses.
  4. 4Alcohol (ACT 2 SCENE 2)We first begin to see her changing in Act 2 Scene 2. We see that Lady Macbeth is drinking alcohol in this scene which may suggest that she isn’t naturally brave or strong and needs alcohol to make her bold
  5. 5Lady Macbeth is W.E.A.K (ACT 2 SCENE 2)We see Lady Macbeth as Weak when she says, “Had he not rEsembled my father as he slept, I had done it”. We see her humanity in this because throughout the first two Acts she was is seen as ruthless, especially when she said she would dash her own baby’s head for her husband to be King.
