1Variable means changeable. They are input data that can be changed within a model.For example; A theme park queue model.
A user is able to change the estimated number of people who will be entering and leaving the theme park during each hourly period. The results will then change as the variables have changed.
2What If questions One of the main reasons for using a model is so that what if questions can be asked.For example;
What would happen to a grade if a student achieved an extra 5 marks in their coursework?
What if they increase the sales price of strawberry ice cream and the sales for week 1 decrease?
3A formulae are calculations that involve add, subtract, multiply and divide. They are used in models to perform calculations on variables.For example;
A5+B7 (add)
F6-G6 (subtract)
B9*B10 (multiply)
H7/D4 (divide)
4Worksheets are spreadsheets which consist of rows and columns of cells.A workbook is a set of worksheets. It is saved as a single file and should contain worksheets that are related to each other.
5A relative cell reference is one which is relative to the position of the cell which contains the formula or function. For example; B3.An absolute cell reference is one which points to an exact cell. For example; $G$3 will always point to that cell. They are used when formulae and functions need to be replicated. $ is always used!
