- 1Simple harmonic motionIt is the oscillatory motion of a particle whose acceleration is directly proportional to it’s displacement from the equilibrium position and this acceleration is always directed towards this position.
- 2Phase differenceThe difference in the phase angle between two oscillations that have the same frequency.
- 3DampingWhen SHM is subjected to frictional or other dissipative forces, the total energy of the system is no longer constant and decreases with time.
- 4ResonanceWhen the driving frequency is equal to the natural frequency of the oscillating system, and causes a change in the total energy in the system.
