Pregunta Respuesta
Cell Membrane- state some of its functions -Form a barrier between the cell and its surroundings -Keeps content of cell inside -Allows simple substances to enter and leave the cells -Controls movement of other substances into and out of cell -Often described as partially permeable
Nucleus-state some of its functions -Controls all activities in the cell -Controls how cells develop
Cytoplasm-state some of its functions -Place where many chemical reactions take place, e.g. respiration
Chloroplast-state some of its functions -Photosynthesis -Stores starch
Cell wall-state some of its functions -Only present in plant cells -Stop cells from bursting when filled with water -Gives shape to cells -Allows water and dissolved substances to pass through freely (fully permeable)
Sap vacuole-state some of its functions -Full of water to maintain shape and 'firmness' of cell -Stores salt and sugars
Shape of animal cell and plant cell Plant: Permanent shape determined by the cell wall Animal- shapes vary as there is no cell wall
