The Berlin Wall was the physical division that existed between East and West Berlin

To separate the political and social ideas from Federal Republic of Germany (American, French, British) with the capitalism to the German Democratic Republic (Soviet) with the socialism.

Why it was destroyed?

The Wall falls by the policy of Gorbachev that opens the perspective of a different socialism and especially the door to those who want to leave.

Due to the motivation of the opening of borders between Austria and Hungary

How the destruction began?

The wall fell because of an announcement, partly improvised, by the official, Guenter Schabowski, who believed that in that way he could save the communist regime of the German Democratic Republic

To end the cold war so the two Germans joined.
