lever which you pull, this pushes a piston which pushes a liquid through a sealed casing all the way to the brake caliper, the liquid in the casingpushes two pistons which are in the brake caliper towards each other allowing the brake pands on the inside of the brake caliper to push against the brake disks this causes friction allowing the bike to slow down.
