Issues that Impacted Earth

  1. Acid Rain is the acidic droplets falling into the ecosystem from the effect of air pollution from sulfur and nitrogen released by vechicles gasoline, coal-fired power stations and metal.

    • Some of the issues of acid rain are that it slowly kills the forest, of which animals depend upon for survival. This eventually leads to the extinction of animals and species. The death of the species can cause death of other species who depend on it.In the marine life it kills fish of which humans consume, causing us to pay more as there is less population of fish.Economically there will be a loss of jobs, further causing farmers crops to be ruined. In the course of time workers on the farm will lose their jobs and soon farmers will be out of buiness.
      • To help the human health, a reduction of sulfur and nitrogen emissions if necessary. Governments forced energy producers to use scrubbers to trap pollutants prior to being released into the air as well as funding is provided to restore damaged ecosystems. The use of catalytic converters in vehicles reduce emissions.
  2. Water Quality is the physical, chemical, biological and radiological representation of water. Several factors determined the quality of water, like the bacteria levels, the salt content as well as the concentration of dissolved oxygen.

    • Some of the issues of water quality are humans dump waste into water, boats dispose different substances in the water and animals waste leaks into the ground contaminating the water. The sewage disposal creates chemical pollutants such as soap detergent into lakes and rivers.Oil spills into the ocean by tankers and ships threaten the life of fish. Organisms that rely on the fish suffer. The fishermen lose their jobs, further lose their homes eventually leading to a high sucide rate.Polluted water in the beaches prevents people from swimming.
      • Ways to improve water quality is through the Canada Water Act 1985 which prepare programs pertaining to conservation, development, implementation of water resources. The water treament plant helps to decrease the amount of toxic waste in lakes and rivers. The use of filtration, where a water pump, filter water through a microscopic filter that will kill certain organisms. By boiling water, make it safe for human consumptions as it kills any impurities and bacteria that may be harmful. Chlorine is added to our water reservoirs to make water drinking from the tap of our homes safe and prevent e-coli diseases.
  3. Ozone Depletion is the result of CFCs (Chlorofluorocharbons) on the ozone layer. As futher ozone is destroyed this is creating a hole in the ozone which then allows suns destructive ultraviolet rays to reflect on earth.

    • The major root is caused by CFCs.CFCs are inclusive of carbon fluoride and chlorine.CFCs are used in air crafts, gas balloons, satellites, industrial solvents, dry cleaning agents, spray cans and hospital sterilant. Another issue is the increased UVB radiation entering earth's surface. This affects the humans causing skin cancer, eye damage(cataracts) and blindness.Climate change has the accumilation of trophosheric ozone and acid aerosols leading to air pollution. The ozone depletion also affect crop and forest damage.Human respirtory illneses and heart problems are also the cause of ozone depletion.
      • Ways to improve ozone depletion is to band products that harm the ozone by having CFC free mechandise. To prevent radiation and skin cancer, the use of UV protection sunglasses and suncream will minimize UV effect on the skin or eyes.Countries nearer to the equator who are affeted by the ozone depletion should limit the growth of crops and forests. To prevent human respirtory illnesses we should educate the humans about ozone depletion
