  1. Types of Storage
    1. Solid State Storage
      1. This is made of microchips. The state of the switches determine if a 1, or 0 is stored.
        1. Devices: Solid State Drive, SD Card, USB Memory Stick.
          1. The capacity is okay, the speed is very fast, the portability is very good, the durability is very good, its very reliable and the cost is very high
          2. Magnetic Storage
            1. Read/write move across the medium and change how magnetised that part of the medium is.
              1. Devices : Hard Disk Drive and Tape Drives
                1. The capacity is very good, the speed is okay, the portability is okay, the durability is not that good, the reliability is okay, and the cost is very low
                2. Optical Storage
                  1. A laser light created marks in a pattern on the disk. A laser light detects where the marks are and translates this into a readable format.
                    1. Devices : Blu Ray, DVD ROM and CD ROM
                      1. The capacity isn't that good, the speed is very slow, the portability is okay, the durability is okay, it isnt very reliable and the cost is okay.
                        1. Optical storage isn't as good as the other storages.
