1. Back up your data

   • always keep your back up in a remote location
     • incase an enviromental disaster destroys the your original copy
       • if you have a back up somewhere else its unlikely that an enviromental disaster will hit there too
   • Incremental back up
     • files that have been backed up because they have been changed

2. Limiting access to your data

   • Only give people you trust passwords
     • To create a secure password you need to use:
       • Capitals
       • symobols
       • Random words
       • lower case
   • use security doors to limit theft
     • you need a key to get into the room containing the data
       • some companies will even have locks for the buildings, not just the room
   • Encrpt your data
     • use encptions that only you and the other user knows
       • this way hackers cant access your data

3. physical barriers

   • with the use of fireproof doors you can limint enviromental disasters such as a fire
     • if the fire got in the room then you have Carbon Dioxide protection which floods the room with Co2
       • Fire needs oxygen to spread so if you flood the room with co2 it will go out
