QUANTIFIERS
- some and any We do not normally use the quantifier some in negative and interrogative sentences. We normally use any: Do you have any children?Did you see any friends? We don't have any children.I didn't see any friends. We saw some lions at the zoo, but we didn't see any tigers.
SOME: It is used for countless names or nouns such as plural accounting names or nouns. Used in affirmative and interrogative phrases. She has some apples
MANY: It expresses the idea of great numbers. It is mostly used in negative and interrogative phrases with the accounting name in the plural. There are many tourists
MUCH: only with countless names in singular. Much can be used in affirmative phrases, although it would be more formal and not as common.. There is not much time
ANY: Used in the same contexts as some, but in negative or interrogative phrases.. He does not have any money
NO, NONE: Unlike the no particle, none can be used without being accompanied by a name, accounting or countless. So it's customary to go to the end of the sentence. How many pencils are there? None
A LOT OF/LOTS OF: They express a great idea. It can be used with accounting and countless names or nouns, it's more informal. He has a lot of books
LITTLE/A LITTLE: They express a small amount and are used only with countless names. The option to use little or a little reflects an opinion on the amount. Do you have a little money?
