Isolation Duologue

1. Ideas

   • A girls mother dies and comes back as a ghost to tell her to interact with others instead of hiding away at home
   • A boy and a fox are left in a forest to come home and they share their stories together on the trip.
   • Two friends get stuck in school for a night and wander the around the corridors together alone.
   • On a boat stuck at see with a sick passenger who cannot be touched.Their only company is their voices
   • Two brothers have cystic fibrosis and can never give each other a hug or even be too close to each other.
   • A girl stuck at home. Her interaction is her reflection in the one mirror of her home.

2. CHARACTERS/ ACTORS MUST ALWAYS BE AT LEAST 2m APART!!!

3. A Boy and A Fox

   • When?
     • This duologue occurs in the early evening in winter (snow).
     • The year is at least 2000+ with modern times.
     • The play is in the past or present but not the future!
   • Where?
     • The setting is outdoors but can be performed indoors
     • It is in a wooded forest with entrance to a small meadow.
     • It is on Earth and nothing is necessarily special about this forest.
   • Why?
     • This scene is important because the characters develop a bond and they speak about kindness and love together.
     • The characters feel as if they should share their stories and become good friends. They want to help each other.
   • Back stories?
     • The boy was supposed to be harvesting wood for his family when he got lost and he realises he is not alone and starts having deep and meaningful conversations with his new companion, the fox.
     • The fox was wandering around the forest in a thoughtless haze when he stumbled across a young lost boy. The fox asks him a few questions and whilst on their walk back home, they become firm friends lost in a meaningful conversation.
   • Who are the characters?
     • The boy is called Ben.He is 10 years old. He loves animals and he comes across a lost but talking fox
     • The fox is just referred to as 'The Fox'. He is wise and old. He comes across Ben when he was wondering across the forest
