2. Intro

   • Help children to understand the purpose of reading
   • Must be exciting
   • Not too long

3. Reading

   • Read once through focusing on difficult words, comprehension and enjoyment
     • Then read more than once focusing on different aspects such as punctuation, pictures
   • If it has rhyme read altogether

4. Follow up

   • Dramatization of story
   • Shared writing based on text
   • Improvisation music to the drama
   • Word level work (on words that they need to focus on)
   • retelling the story to a small group

5. In shared reading teacher leads reading while students read actively (silently if they can).
