2. Banquo too has ambition as he asks the witches to tell his fortune and wonders if Macbeths promises have come true maybe his will as well

   • Banquo maintains his integrity showing Macbeth also had the moral choice between good and evil

3. his wifes ambition is a driving force which encorages him to overcome his guilt

4. M's ambition soon causes him to murder

5. ambition has series consequences as Macbeth becomes a tyrant and LM commits suicide

6. In testing Macduff’s loyalty, Malcolm outlines the difference between ambition and morality by pretending to be greedy and power hungry. Macduff does not belive the king should be greedy and therefore demonstrates that a moral code is more important in positions of power than ambition.

   • M has considered all good reasons for not murdering Duncan-only ambition is left to overrule his troubled conscience
