CONDITIONALS

1. Firts conditional

   • If + sujeto + verbo en presente (present simple, present continuous, present perfect),
     • It is used to talk about what will happen in the future if a condition is met. The negative form can be "don't, doesn't or won't" depending on what you mean.

2. We can use conditionals to talk about what will happen, what could happen, what we would like to happen or what did not happen at a given moment.

3. The negations of the first conditional are done with will not or the short form won’t

   • examples
     • If he calls me, I won’t answer.
     • If I fail the test, I won’t finish university.

4. They can also be formed with a negation of the part with "if", or with a negation of both sides. It depends on what you want to say.

   • examples
     • If you don’t eat something now, you’ll be hungry later.
     • If it doesn’t rain, we’ll go for a walk.

5. Second conditional

   • To form the second conditional, it is necessary to use the simple past tense, in the first action and the modal verbs would, could and might, which imply the possibility of doing something or of something happening, together with the verb of the result in time simple present
     • If + sujeto + pasado simple + sujeto + would + infinitivo

6. The second conditional, or present conditional, talks about things that could still happen, although the possibility of them happening seems remote: I’d go if you came along (Yo iría si tú vinieras conmigo)

   • examples
     • Would you mind if I took off my boots?
     • Would I hurt your feelings if I didn’t come?
