1. Definition :To create a virtual environment meant to simulate the hardware and software components of a computer along with creation of a virtual resource such as a server, desktop, operating system, file, storage or network

2. Advantage of Virtualization : Slashes IT expenses reduce downtime, uses hardware more efficiently, enhance resiliency in disaster recovery situations Increase efficiency and productivity,quick and easy setup, cloud migration is easier, provides more flexibility, provides a safe testing environment for volatile softwares

3. Drawbacks: High Initial Investment. Data Can be at Risk. Quick Scalability is a Challenge. Performance Witnesses a Dip . Huge demand on the hardware to run the programs parallelly .Shared resources might cause viruses or other malacious software attacks

4. types of hyper visor

   • Type 1 :runs directly on the host machine's physical hardware, and it's referred to as a bare-metal hypervisor. The Type 1 hypervisor doesn't have to load an underlying OS. With direct access to the underlying hardware and no other software -- such as OSes and device drivers -- to contend with for virtualization, Type 1 hypervisors are regarded as the most efficient and best-performing hypervisors available for enterprise computing.
   • Type 2:A Type 2 hypervisor is typically installed on top of an existing OS. It is sometimes called a hosted hypervisor because it relies on the host machine's preexisting OS to manage calls to CPU, memory, storage and network resources. onsequently, Type 2 hypervisors are generally not used for data center computing and are reserved for client or end-user systems -- sometimes called client hypervisors -- where performance and security are lesser concerns. They also come at a lower cost than Type 1

5. Cloud+Virtualization benefits: No hardware Required, Easy implementation ,Accessibility,lower coste per head,greater flexibility for growth

6. Challenges:Depleted resources—performance and availability suffer, lack of application awareness— OS virtualization doesn’t virtualize the application.Additional, unanticipated costs—the virtual solution costs more than the physical problem
