1. EC2 provides security defining the firewall

   • firewall Rules
     • Regulates FTP,http traffic etc.
     • Each virtual server occupies same level in the network
     • No network segments and perimeter
     • Advantages
       • Quick access for server management
       • No single target for attack
       • No chance of damaging an entire network

2. Network segments protected by firewall

   • Servers belong to more than 1 grp
     • Servers in same security group may not interact
       • Don’t share any Ip characteristics

3. Host security

   • Describes preparedness of the server for facing attacks
   • System hardening
   • Antivirus protection
   • Host intrusion detection
   • Data segmentation
