Network Security

  1. FireWall

    • It allows and prevents people getting in and out.
    • It creates a block which stops people from connecting and editing things on your computer.
    • If there wasn't firewall people and delete and mess with your items and personal data on your device.
  2. Encyption

    • Scrambles up data so people can't read and hack it.
    • It creates a way you can have data and files without people being able to read them unless they know how to unscramble them.
    • If you didn't have this then if you send files people can read them and copy them. So if you have it then the only people who can access and read it are the people who know how to unscramble it.
  3. Passwords

    • Stops people getting into your data and computer.
    • It stops people getting in by creating a lock and password only you know.
    • If you didn't have a password anyone can get into your account, hack it and change things. They can also view everything.
  4. Physical Security

    • A physical way you can stop people getting into your files. ect.
    • Ways physical security is used to protect us is: security cameras, fans, fire alarms ect.
    • If there wasn't physical security then there is a chance some one will harm the network or change something. Also, something could happen too the computers and could delete something important.
  5. User access levels

    • User access allows different people to do and access different things and networks depending on how high your status is.
      • Student-can access their account and their files only.
        • Teacher-can access their account and students account.
          • IT technician-can access everyone's account and the network.
    • If you didn't have user access levels then people can delete things off of other accounts and shut down networks.
