Android Service

1. Doesn't have user interface

2. Is an application component that can perform long-running operation in the background.

3. Can take two forms:

   • Bound Service
     • A component can bind to a Service to interact with it.
     • A service is "bound" when an application components binds to it by calling the method bindService()
   • Started Service
     • A services is "started" when an application component (such an activity) starts it by calling the method startService()

4. extend from android.app.Service class in order to create a Service.

5. Life Cycle:

   • onCreate()
     • onStartCommand()
       • onStar()
         • onDestroy()
