Resumen del Recurso

Organising The Nervous System
  1. Responding to the Environment
    1. All organisms need a method of communication between their sensors and effectors.
    2. Subdividing the Nervous System
      1. The nervous system coordinates the actions of the body through electrical impulses
        1. It works in conjunction with the endocrine system.
          1. Structurally and functionally divided into subsystems
          2. Central nervous system and peripheral nervous system
            1. The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord.
              1. It is made up of grey matter (billions of non-mylelinated nerve cells) and white matter (longer, mylelinated axons and dendrons that carry impulses.
                1. The peripheral nervous system is made up of theneurones that carry impulses into and out of the CNS
