1. computer virus- a program that replicates itself and spreads attempting to make the system unreliable

2. Trojan- appears to be something wanted or needed by the user but is a program designed to give full control of the pc to another it can be hidden in valid programs and software. Trojan horses can make copies of themselves , steal information or harm their host computer system

3. worm- malicious program that replicates itself and spreads to other computers

4. phishing- a way of attempting to acquire information by pretending to be a form of a trustworthy and this can be used to carry out identity theft

5. spyware-a malicious software usually secretly installed on a system to collect information and data eg user logins financial information without user knowledge

6. physical threats- computer system components- key board mouse being lost or stolen

7. adware- aprogram ayutomatically showing adverts to generate revenue for the author usually harmless but can include things like spyware
