     • Play begins with SN witches meet heth- first scene sets the tone for the rest of the play. its gothic aspects allow audience to feel fear and create tension.
   • "Horrid hell can come a devil more damn'd"
     • Macduff angry, causes hatred toward M n leads to the death of M, SH shows might be above everyone but always someone to take revenge
   • "Juggling friends"
     • M realized he has been tricked into believing he can do as he wishes , thus encouraging his moral descent - clear Sh wants audience to know all Sn are evil
   • "strange screams of death"
     • Leenox states forshadows ducans death sets evil atmosphere for an evil deed, th eunatural events, byt he old man and prss creates sense of fear and mystery heightens suspense

2. Appears to the audience in varied forms -ghost,appearances n floating dagger

   • "Fair is foul and foul is fair"
     • Metaphor =said by witches - symbol of evil uses fear of devil to give the play a haunting effect . Most striking voice of unnaturalness n disorder
   • "Pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell"
     • L.M accepts evil n Sh uses her to see that evil is never good as she khs
   • "Dagger which i see before me?"
     • SN leads M to his victim-Dagger'pushes' M to commit crime, showing audience that what M is doing is evil
   • "Horrible shadow "
     • B ghost - M see's the ghost and reacts with horror- reminder of the bad deeds and the innocent blood that spilled to get the crown - unsettles his conscience. Creates further suspense

3. SH believed in SN- very strongly and majority of them are frightened including king James 1
