READING STRATEGIES

1. PREDICTIONS

   • Before Begin a Book.
     • Look at the title.
     • Look at the images.
     • Think about you know already.
   • During Reading a Book.
     • Think about what you have read already.
     • Identify key ideas and major events.
     • What you think will happen?
   • Check Your Prediction.
     • Confirm after read.
     • Think about what you have read previously.
     • Think about what may happen.
   • Predict and assert some ideas.

2. INFERRING

   • Introduce in context whil you read.
   • Is about you're reading between the lines.
   • Interpret meaning.
   • Find that in clues thath need to be interpreted.
   • What will do a character?
   • Infer motives, purposes, and intentions.

3. GESSING

   • Is used to relate words.
   • Guessing means estimating something.
   • Guessing could be used depending on the context.
   • Guess what word means.

4. SCANNING

   • Find specific informarion.
     • Dates.
     • Names.
     • statistics.
     • Places.
   • Selectively read and skip through sections of the passage.
     • You have a question in your mind and you read a passage only to find the answer.

5. SKIMMING

   • You can read only main ideas for a general impression.
   • Read the title.
   • Read any headings and sub-headings.
   • Notice any italicized or boldface words or phrases.
   • Read the summary of last paragraph.
