    • MUSCLE
      • EPITHELIAL
        • Simple columnar
          • Function: protection, secretion, absorption
          • Location: lining of digestive tract and uterus
        • Stratified squamous
          • Location: lining air passages like the trachea and tubes of the reproductive system.
          • Function: protection
        • Transitional
          • Function: forms barriers to block diffusion
          • Location: urinary bladder
        • Simple cuboidal
          • Function: secretion and absorption
          • Location: lining of kidney tubules, ducts of glands, covering surface of ovaries
        • SIMPLE SQUAMOUS
          • Function: diffusion and fibration
          • Location: found in air sacs of lungs
        • Pseudostradified
          • Function: secretion and cilia-aided movement
          • Location: lining air passages like the trachea and tubes of the reproductive system.
      • CONNECTIVE
        • Bone
          • Functions: protection/ support, quick-healing
          • Locations: all over the body
        • Blood
          • Functions: transports oxygen and carbon dioxide, maintains body temp. controls pH, removes toxins from body
          • Locations: inside blood vessels, within the chambers of the heart
        • Elastic
          • Functions: allows respiratory organs to recoil after inhalation and helps push blood
        • Regular
          • Functions: forms ligaments and tendons, pulls fibers in direction its pullings
          • Locations: found in the tendons and ligaments
        • Reticular
          • Functions: supports walls of certain internal organs, and allows the liver to not collapse in on themselves.
          • Locations: found in the kidney, spleen, lymph nodes, and bone marrow
        • Irregular
          • Functions: holds skin on and allows it to stretch and reflects the direction of the pulling forces to which it is exposed
          • Locations: Internal to skin, around muscles and organs
        • Cartilage
          • Functions: support, frameworks, attachments
          • Locations: found in joints between bones, elbows, knees, and ankles
        • Adipose
          • Functions: provides fuel and insulation, cushions joints and some organs and forms tissue beneath the skin
          • Locations: Under the skin, around heart, kidneys, and nerve tissue
      • Cardiac. Function. Function: pumps blood throughout the body. Location: found in the heart and makes up bulk of the hearts mass
      • Smooth. Function: changes the volume of the organ they surround, and contracts to push food throughout the body. Location: found in the walls of hollow organs
      • skeletal. Function: moves bones/body. Location: muscles attached to the skeleton
    • Functions: sensory input, integration, control of muscles, homeostasis, and mental activity
    • Locations: found in nerves throughout the body, organs at nervous system, brain and spinal cord
