1. Flat and Relational

   • Flat
     • Why they are used?
       • It contains a lot of information which means that there is more memory and more mistakes as you repeat the same thing over and over again.
     • Examples
       • Very small companies
   • Relational
     • Why they are used?
       • It is used for taking away redundant/repetitive data, as using less memory makes it work faster.
     • Examples
       • Very large companies

2. Local and Network

   • Local
     • Why they are used?
       • It is for things that you don't want other people to see - only one person can use it at once and other people won't be able to go onto it.
     • Examples
       • Financial Use
   • Network
     • Why they are used?
       • It is for internal use, which means that more than one person is able to use it at once. The information is shown to others easily.

   • Why they are used?
     • Most of the databases are online, this is because it can be easily accessed by a webpage and it can be accessed from anywhere in the world. It is also automatic, therefore, it is updated automatically.
