AS IS / TO BE process mapping

1. It is a model that allows evaluating the current state of a process and develop improvements to it.

   • In order to register the process, there must first be a detailed knowledge of this. This is achieved through:
     • Observation
       • This generates a detailed knowledge of the process with which we can represent it.
         • The clearest representation to do it is the process flow diagram, there are software that allows its realization.
           • Once this analysis has been completed and the diagram has been represented, the AS IS phase of the methodology is considered completed.
             • The next thing is to identify improvements to the process previously described, this is known as the phase TO BE
               • For this, diagnostic questions are asked to understand improve the activities of improvements.
                 • Which step in the process has the highest effect about performance?
                 • Are there approaches to making it increasingly effective?
               • A new process map is proposed applying the identified improvements.
               • And finally, the new improved process is implemented, this step is the most difficult but there are ways to control it.
                 • Use metrics that reflect that the new process is better than the old one
                 • Monitor and train employees in the new approach to the process.
