The Executive Branch

1. The President

   • Both head of state and head of government of the US
     • Resposible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress.

2. Vice President

   • Responsibility is to be ready at any moment to take presidency
     • Is also elected by electoral college and is president of the US Senate

3. The Cabinet

   • body made up of the heads of the 15 executive departments
     • Appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate

4. Executive Office of the President

   • created in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt
     • responsible for communicating the President's message to the American people.
