1. Irregular

   • Comparative
     • It is worse than homework. It is better than cake.
   • Ex: Good, bad, far, fun
   • Superlative
     • This is the best cake ever. He is the worst friend I have.

2. Two + syllables

   • Ex. beautiful, surreal, etc.
   • Comparative
     • This is more beautiful than that. His painting is more surreal than hers.
   • Superlative
     • This is the most beautiful painting in the room. Dali is the most surreal painter I know.

3. Two syllables + -y

   • Superlative
     • He is the hairiest person in my family. Mary is the funniest woman I know.
   • Comparative
     • He is hairier than you. Tom is funnier than Jack.
   • Ex: hairy, funny, etc.

4. One syllable

   • Comparative
     • He is taller than me. You are stronger than her.
     • Spelling
       • Generally CVC + Cer Ex.: Hot / hotter Sad / sadder
   • Superlative
     • He is the tallest student in the class. She is the strongest person in the world.
   • Ex: tall, strong, etc.
