Lambeck's Approach aim

Página 1
The aim of Lambeck's 'multi-species' approach is to try and identify the main focal species within an ecosystem. This is done by surveying a 'pool' of species within an ecosystem and identifying a subset of focal species. The idea is that these focal species have requirements, that if met, will benefit all of the other species within the ecosystem underneath this 'focal species'. If the landscape is managed for the focal species, then the whole pool of species within the ecosystem should be protected.
Steps:
1) Group species according to threats
2) Identify most vulnerable species
3) Determine whether to manage or restore
4) Select focal species
Once focal species have been identified, implement conservation strategies for protect these species (eg. corridor planting, predator/weed removal).
