The things created by God have value because the maker is God. The world is good and human beings should not damage and destroy it, but take care of it.

Natural things in the world have goodness because God said so

Some Christians believe that the natural resources of the world was created for human beings to use responsibly. The resources enhance and enrich human life

Many christians think they should be stewards of the world because they have a responsibility as God created them to look after the environment on behalf of God

Being stewards involves preserving the environment for future generations, sharing natural resources, use the resources sustainably and join groups to campaign for protection over the environment

Environmental Problems - Pollution, destruction of natural habitats and climate change

Effects of Climate Change on Human Life - crop yields will be reduced, deaths among the elderly, water shortages and poorer parts of the work will be effected more quickly than richer parts

Individual responses - recycling, home and energy insulation

Community responses - car shares and buying local

Christian responses - raising money, allotments, raising awareness about issues

Christians think it is a sin to waste natural resources as they were created by God.

they see the environmental catastrophe as Gods plan. Christians should be prepared and ready for the second coming of jesus and the end of the world.

Some see it as God's punishment of humanity for sin just like he did with Noah's Ark

Christian beliefs about respect for each other

They have a mission of love, justice and respect for all because they have a duty since God loves the world.

Every single human being has dignity and should be respected. Life is sacred because God created it in his image. We should treat everyone with love 'love your neighbour'

Christians should demonstrate love and kindness practically - visiting and looking after the sick and those in prison, providing for those who are hungry and thirsty, caring for strangers, clothing and respecting those who have lost dignity

What causes world poverty? - environmental problems, healthcare, conflict, bad government, HIV/AIDS, debt, trade barriers, greed in more economically developed countries

Christians support the poor by - charity, praying, campaigning and buying fair trade

Christian Aid - tackle the causes and consequences of poverty and injustice and campaign for change. Expose the scandal of poverty and help in practice ways
