- The Declaration of Independence is a document created in 1776 that summarizes why the thirteen colonies wanted to break away from Great Britain. It is one of the most important documents in US history. The colonists were tired of being taxed by British rule and wanted to choose their government. They wanted government that wouldn't give them unreasonable taxes and that made rules that were best for the colonies situation. Writing the Declaration of Independence was not easy however. It took a lot of courage to write this document while still under the British rule. In the summer of 1776, a group of men gathered together to think of reasons to become independent. This group consists of John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Livingston, and Roger Sherman.

- The Bill of Rights was made on August 21, 1789. This document gives the individual rights of the people. This also was made to protect the freedoms of the people. The Bill of Rights are 10 amendments that were put into another document, so they don't have their own individual document. The Bill of Rights protect the people through the security of the government, which allows the government to enforce each law or amendment.

- The difference between the Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments to the constitution. They state what the rights of the people are. The Declaration was a document that outlined the things that the King of England was doing to violate the rights of people in the colonies. The similarities between the two are while one was declaring their independence, the other one was giving the reasons on why they wanted to be independent.

- This document and the Declaration of Independence share common features. This declaration started off the same way as the Declaration of Independence. I believe the writer did this on purpose because they would like to show that men have an absolute tyranny over women much like Britain did over the colonists. The Declaration of Sentiments is stating that the women are born equal to men so they should have the same rights as men do. Women expect that the governing party will submit to their wishes because of how it is strategically presented to be like the Declaration of Independence. The demands being made by women and their supporters include social, political, religious, and civil rights. To me, the most controversial demand is that women and men are all born equal and they will be equal in society.
