Fichas del conjunto (9)
- 1SolidParticles in this state can only vibrate about a fixed point. The forces between the particles are very strong.
- 2LiquidParticles in this state have some energy. The particles are only free to move past each other. The forces are weaker than in a solid.
- 3GasThe particles in this state have lots of energy and little force to hold the particles together.
- 4EvaporationDuring this change of state the particles in a liquid is given enough thermal energy to move free of the other particles.
- 5CondensationThis change of state means particles lose energy and can now only move past each other. The forces between the atoms become stronger.
- 6FreezingThis change of state removes energy from particles. The particles are then unable to move and can only vibrate around a fixed point.
- 7MeltingThis change of state gives particles in a solid enough energy to allow them to move past one another.
- 8ConductorThis material allows heat and electricity to pass through easily. Metals are good at this because they have free electrons.
- 9InsulatorA material that is a poor transmitter of heat and electricity. Plastics and gases are good examples of this.
