MERCURY The smallest planet in the Solar System and the closest to the Sun.
VENUS The closest to the Earth and second closest to the Sun. The hottest planet in the Solar System.
THE EARTH The third planet in order of distance to the Sun; the planet where we live and the only one we know that supports life. Also known as the “Blue Planet” because it has much water on the surface.
MARS The fourth planet of the Solar System and the second smallest. Also known as the “Red Planet” for its reddish appearance.
JUPITER The biggest and the oldest planet of our Solar System. The fifth in distance to the Sun and the first of the “Gas Giants”.
SATURN It is known for its rings of rocks and ice. The second biggest planet in the Solar System and the sixth in order of distance to the Sun.
URANUS It is the second farthest planet from the Sun and the third in size. Considered an “Ice Giant”, and the coldest of the planets.
NEPTUNE The eighth and last planet of the Solar System. The furthest from the Sun. Also called an “Ice Giant”.
