A chronic, noninfectious skin inflammation occurring with remissions and exacerbations, involving keratin synthesis that results in patches; may lead to infection in the affected area, arthritis may develop with changes similar to RA. 2. Possible causes are stress, trauma, infection, hormonal changes, genetic predisposition, autoimmune reaction, climate changes. Certain medications may exacerbate this condition. 3. Koebner phenomenon is the development of these lesions at a site of injury (e.g. scratch or sunburn). Prompt cleansing of the area may prevent of lessen this phenomenon. 4.
