What are the four zones in the SIHC? Fiordlands, Western High Country, Eastern High Country and the Southern Alps.
What are 2 groups that interact with the SIHC environment? Farmers and Tourists.
What are Farmers uses and perspectives of the SIHC? They see the land from an economic view point. They especially use the Eastern High Country which is suited to large ranches. Early farmers burnt native grasses more suited to sheep. The soils were unsuitable and required nutrients to be added. Farmers introduced new plants such as grasses and exotic trees and also animals such as sheep.
