1. CHEMICAL - atoms combine to form molecules
2. CELLULAR LEVEL - molecules combine to form cells - cells are the smallest living units of body (trillions of cells)
3. TISSUE LEVEL - group of cells that works together to perform a common function - 4 tissue types: *Epithelial *Connective * Muscle * Nervous
4. ORGAN LEVEL - made up of more than one tissue (discrete structure) - the structure of an organ is arranged so it can perform a certain unique function - e.g. liver, heart, brain
5. ORGAN SYSTEM LEVEL - a group of organs that work together to perform a certain function - e.g. cardiovascular system
6. ORGANISM - organ systems put together to make a living organism
